- Strongly involved in medical doctor training (including 2 of 12 semester leaders in the new medical studies plan)

- Master in Genetic Counselling 1 (students begin every other year)

Research in 2016
- A new research strategy was developed 2016-2019

- Prizes to IGS researchers:
- MOF’s prize for publication of the year (Ole Frithjof Norheim)
- Top Quality prize from Helse Vest (Miriam Hartveit)
- Bergen kommune’s prize for research and innovation (Kjell Krüger)
- Focus on external funding
- Established seminars on application writing
- approx 40 applications for external funding were sent, involving nearly 500 million kroner
- building stronger contact with Bergen’s Research Foundation
