Norwegian Music Meets Slovak
The project 'Norwegian music meets Slovakia' is part of the EU exchange program, and organized by the Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava together with the Grieg Academy at the University of Bergen. The project is also supported by the Norwegian Embassy in Slovakia.
The first part of the exchange took place in Bratislava 5–6 December. The program consists of master classes, concerts, lectures, and a competition. The seminar days were concluded by two concerts in the Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava with works by Edvard Grieg, Harald Sæverud, Klaus Egge, Fartein Valen, Knut Vaage and Morten Eide Pedersen.
From the Center for Grieg Research, Arnulf Mattes contributed with a lecture on 'Grieg, History, and Politics - Commemorating Grieg in 2007-1993-1943'.
The Norwegian participants are all associated with the ongoing artistic research project (Un-)Settling Sites and Styles: Performers in Search of New Expressive Means at the Faculty of Arts, Music and Design, UiB.
