Radiation protection – ionizing radiation
"Radiation protection - ionizing radiation" is a one day course that gives an introduction to radiation protection and the use of ionizing radiation.
- Obligatory for those who has not taken radiation protection course at UiB before:
- Local radiation-coordinators, staff and tutors/supervisors awaiting the three-day radiation protection course.
- PhD and master students who are going to use ionizing radiation sources for a shorter period.
- Others: HSE-coordinators, safety delegates and employees with delegated HSE-tasks.
Content: The course gives an introduction to radiation protection and use of ionizing radiation. The course will look at the following topics: Valid act and regulation, the division of responsibility and tasks concerning radiation and radiation protection at UiB, dose limits, principles for reduction of radiation, elements of risk and use of protective equipment.
Aim: Users of ionizing radiation sources and others, who have responsibility or tasks within radiation protection work at UiB, will gain the competence required in laws and regulations.
Time: Next one-day course will be in 2020.
