An Evaluation of the Master’s Program
Linking Learning Outcomes to the Curriculum
Visiting professor Jean Blair has conducted a thorough evaluation of our master's education, including interviews with master students from each research group. This talk provides a summary of the resulting evaluation report.
It focuses on the curricula and recently updated learning outcomes for each of the five specializations and provides a starting point for linking the learning experiences with the specialization learning outcomes (SLOs).
We further recommend discussion topics that are in keeping with current trends in higher education accreditation and briefly highlight possible ways to work toward using assessments of student achievement relative to the SLOs as input when considering possible improvements to the curricula.
In addition, we summarize observations gleaned from focus sessions held with master’s students from each of the five specializations.
It is crucial that all research groups are represented among the audience at this seminar!
