We recommend the Visit Bergen website for information on accommodation, airport transport, travel and tips on activities in Bergen.
To/from the airport:
The Bergen airport is at Flesland, 20 km outside the city of Bergen. The airport is quite small, and it is usually enough time to be there about one hour prior to departure (except holidays and Friday afternoon).
The airport bus leaves every 10 minutes to/from the city centre during working hours, and slightly less frequently in the evening. It costs 125 Nok (12 €) or 105 Nok (10,5 €) if purchased at the machines at the platform. It takes about 25 minutes.
The light rail (Bybanen) leaves frequently and costs about 40 Nok (4 €). It takes about 45 minutes to the city centre. You have to buy tickets at the station.
Taxis are available just outside and will probably cost about 400-500 Nok (40-50 €) depending on the time of day.
Worried about the (in)famous Bergen weather? You'll be happy to know that in May and June we often have lovely warm weather, but you never know so check out the weather forecast before you go.
