Call for mobility applications - north2north program

Possibility to apply for mobility funding for staff and students through north2north in 2023-24.

Main content

North2north is the mobility program in the UArctic network. UiB sends one institutional application for n2n funding. Application deadline is 26. february 2023.

UiB researchers and students can apply for support for visiting n2n partners. Units that wish to invite employees from North American and Scottish n2n partners can now also apply for support for incoming employees for the academic year 2023 - 2024. You cannot get an n2n scholarship if you already have funding from another mobility program (Erasmus, Norplus, etc. ).

Employees and students must use the application form attached at the bottom of this page. Students applying for exchange via UiB's agreements with n2n partners will be contacted.

Prioritization of staff applications from UiB will follow the guidelines for n2n. In addition to this, UiB will give priority to applications with an Arctic thematic focus. PhD candidates apply for staff grants for shorter stays (work travel, research stays, networking, professional meetings). For participation in courses that last several weeks or months, phds apply as students.

Staff mobility

The purpose of the call is to strengthen connections and relations between Norwegian and foreign north2north institutions and to stimulate increased student and staff mobility. Both academic and administrative staff can apply for support for exchange to north2north institutions at set rates. Norwegian institutions that wish to invite staff from North American and Scottish n2n partners can apply for support for travel and accommodation for incoming employees in the academic year 2023 - 2024.

Incoming employees fill in the same application form as outgoing employees. The same scholarship rates are used for both groups.

Staff applying for north2north support are encouraged to cooperate with the host institution on arranging exchange stays for both outgoing and incoming students. This can be of both shorter and longer duration. Staff applications that contain a plan for further student exchange will be prioritized when distributing the n2n scholarships.
