The University of Bergen reopens June 15.
During the Spring of 2020, the University of Bergen had to close access to campus for employees and students to hinder spreading of the corona virus, and all teaching and assessment were shifted to digital platforms.
- Our campus will be open and we look forward to welcoming as many students as possible to Bergen in the next year academic year, says Oddrun Samdal, Vice-Rector for Education at UiB.
From May 4, employees who experience home office as demanding can access their workplace on campus, after approval from the faculty or departments. It is a prerequisite that infection prevention considerations can be taken care of.
All students and staff who are diagnosed with corona virus infection, are asked to please notify UiB by filling out the registration form.
Students and employees: Please complete the E-learning course in Protective Measures. The course is mandatory for students and recommended for employees.
UiB has decided to continue all teaching and assessment (examination) on digital platforms for the remainder of the spring semester.
Employees may access their workplace on campus, given that some condtions are met. It is still a prerequisite that infection prevention considerations may be taken care of.

Wedensday June 9 is date of Award ceremonies for Holberg International Memorial Prize, Nils Klim Prize and the Holberg Prize School Project. Symposiums, debates and Prize-lectures are held on the 8 and 10 of June. The events are open to the public.
Since the Student Society in Bergen organized an open meeting on academic boycott January 18, there has been considerable focus on this topic in various media.
The University of Bergen has a contingency plan in the event of an outbreak of Influenza A (H1N1). It consists of a variety of preventive measures that are in line with UiB’s own pandemic plan and advice from the health authorities.
