Brita Ytre-Arne in panel discussion at NordMedia and ECREA conferences

Leader of the Media Use in Crisis Situations project, Brita Ytre-Arne, participated panel discussion at the NordMedia Conference and a keynote plenary session at the ECREA Communication Conference.

Brita Ytre-Arne was one of the panelists at “The resilience of different types of media systems“ panel discussion at the NordMedia conference, held virtually on 18-20 August 2021. The panelists discussed “the impact of the [Covid-19] crisis and the resilience of different types of media systems”, focusing on Nordic states.

Ytre-Arne talked about the societal impact of the pandemic and changing news use, and how they illustrate resilience. 

Other panelists included Kari Karppinen from the University of Helsinki, Victor Pickard from the University of Pennsylvania, and Ida Willig from the University of Roskilde. The panel discussion was moderated by Jonas Ohlsson from the University of Gothenburg.

At the ECREA 2021 Communication Conference Ytre-Arne was one of the speakers at keynote plenary session on COVID Nationalism. The Conference was held virtually on the 7th of September 2021. At the plenary session Ytre-Arne talked about pandemic public connection. 

Other panelists included Fausto Colombo from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, Italy, Hans-Jörg Trenz from  Scuola Normale Superiore, Firenze, Italy, and Karin Wahl-Jorgensen from Cardiff University.
