BSRS 2013: application deadline 12 March
The sixth Bergen Summer Research School will focus on food as a global development challenge.
Since its inception in 2008, the Bergen Summer Research School (BSRS) has reflected the international commitment of the University of Bergen (UiB). Every year global issues have been addressed by young researchers from around the world, and this year’s BSRS is no different. This time the focus is on questions about food and globalisation and will take place between 17 and 29 June 2013 in Bergen.
In an interview with UiB’s research and education magazine Hubro in conjunction with last year’s research school, former vice-rector of international affairs and the BSRS’s founding mother Kjersti Fløttum discussed the ideas and global issues that have shaped the BSRS. Judging from this year’s programme, the heirs of Fløttum are no less ambitious for the future of the BSRS.
