SVT provides training in uncertainty and quality for the European Parliament

Main content

11-12 November 2013 in Brussels SVT held the two-day course "Uncertainty and Quality in Quantitative Reasoning" for the Directorate of Impact Assessment and European Added Value of the European Parliament.

This directorate was created in 2012 to provide the Parliament with in-house capacity to appraise impact assessments from the European Commission as well as to perform own assessments of amendments and legislative initiatives made by the Parliament. SVT instructors were Roger Strand and Janne Cecilie Johansen. The course focused on concepts of uncertainty and quality in post-normal science and was closely coordinated with a course on sensitivity auditing given by Andrea Saltelli at the European Commission-Joint Research Centre, Ispra, Italy.
