Event support 2025 - UiB Ocean

UiB is a partner in ‘One Ocean City Bergen’ who organises the One Ocean Week (OOW), an annual event for debate, meetings, workshops and activities related to the sustainable use of the ocean. One Ocean Week 2025 takes place on 5-11 April. Check the tentative program here. 

UiB is responsible for several events during this week. Employees and students are encouraged both to participate in One Ocean Week events and to activitely contribute to the programme by organising meetings and other activities. 

Do you have ideas for content, speakers or activities? We can assist in suggesting available venues, and might also cover rental expenses.

Please submit a discription of your ideas and/or plans using this form by Friday 31 January 2025. 

Everyone is free to organise meetings and or activities and register them for the official One Ocean Week program organised by the Municipality of Bergen. But if you need any help or support from UiB-Ocean regarding venues, the deadline above should be met.

Be aware that we don't assist in registering events for the official One Ocean Week program. This must be done by a contact person for the event directly via the One Ocean Week website.

One of the purposes of UiB Ocean is to stimulate interdisciplinary collaboration internally at UiB and with other marine actors in the region. Do you have something you would like to do that fits this purpose? 

UiB Ocean expects to be able to support 8-10 interdisciplinary ocean related projects with a maximum of 50 000 kroner.

The main deadline is Friday 28 February. If there is money left after the main deadline, proposals will be accepted and processed until the budget is used up.

Applications are to be submitted using this form, preferably within the main deadline Friday 28 February.

As this year’s focus of UiB Ocean is on ‘sea level rise’, applications related to this topic are especially welcomed. The same applies to applications that promote interdisciplinary grant proposals to, for example, the Research Council of Norway or Horizon Europe.
