My main research field is in the numerical analysis of differential equations, in particular I am interested in the development of numerical methods that preserve underlying geometrical structures of the equations (geometric integration), like symplecticity or volume preservation.

I am also interested in the application of mathematics to interdisciplinary projects, especially towards medicine. I have established project collaborations with medicine on image processing and image analysis projects, modelling of physiological processes, use of machine learning in image analysis and as a diagnostic tool.
