The tasks of the International Project Office for CliC (CIPO) are to:
- Support the planning and implementation of CliC, cryosphere-related activities of the WCRP, and relevant research activities on cryosphere and climate, as required.
- Support the work of CliC Scientififc Steering Committee, Co-Chairs, and their activities
- Initiate international correspondence and carry out international liaisons at the working level, as required for the development and implementation of CliC observational, modelling, data management systems, education and outreach, ensuring the widest possible participation of all interested nations in the CliC project.
- Identify and solicit commitment of resources and logistical support from all possible sources to the CliC Project, and the coordination of their use, as required, for achieving the goals and objectives of CliC.
- Ensure the timely flow of operational and other relevant information to the CliC SSG, CliC activities, national agencies, appropriate international bodies, and CliC and the climate science communities.
- Assist in planning, organising and conducting CliC meetings, workshops and conferences as required.
- Support the preparation and distribution of the working plans and documents required for the implementation of CliC, and to inform the broad scientific community of CliC activities.
- Maintain CliC documentation and prepare reports of CliC related meetings and events as required.
- Develop and maintain tools for communication through a website and other means as needed (including social media channels).
- Prepare annual reports on CIPO activities.
- Liaise with the WCRP Secretariat in order to ensure the timely handling of issues relevant to the CliC project.
- Carry out other related duties as may be required for the CliC Project and the WCRP.
The tasks of the WCRP Coordination Office for Regional Activities (CORA) are:
- Promote and coordinate WCRP´s Core Projects and Grand Challenges in line with WCRP Strategic Plan 2019-2028
- Contribute to synergy and integration between the various regional activities and WCRP´s Core Projects
- Highlight opportunities, resources, and partnerships that can help promote regional climate research within the WCRP
- Contribute to the dissemination of WCRP´s activities through brochures and online media
- Schedule and organize science-specific meetings and courses conducted by WCRP
- Report on plans and progress at annual meetings
- Contribute ot synergy and integration between WCRP and BCCR
