I am a Postdoctoral Researcher for the SEAS program, in Monica Jordheim’s group (https://www.uib.no/en/persons/Monica.Jordheim#uib-tabs-research). This research program (2022-2025) emphasizes the chemical studies of natural products of sustainable organisms living in areas of hydrothermal vents from deep-sea in the Artic and Artic Mid-Ocean Ridge, with an ecological and pharmacological approach, using metabolomics, bio-guided fractionation, modern mass spectrometry and NMR analyses.

The SEAS project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No 101034309. SEAS project is aimed at training future research leaders for the conservation and sustainable use of the ocean, seas, and marine resources. We are an interdisciplinary group of postdoctoral fellows at the University of Bergen, Norway who aim to deliver high-quality research with a positive, on the ground impact. Objectives and Content

The course addresses analysis of organic compounds using spectroscopic methods as infrared (IR), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, as well as mass spectrometry (MS). The course concentrates on interpretation of data, and the focus will be to understand and to utilize data from NMR and MS.
