In recent years, a better understanding of the climate system and improvements in climate modeling have necessitated the enhanced utilization of climate predictions in sectors heavily affected by climate change, such as agriculture, energy, and shipping. The multitude of applications makes the development of valuable climate predictions for stakeholders an endlessly intriguing field of research. Particularly within the 2 to 4-week time horizon, significant gaps exist in our understanding of the predictable components of the climate system and the utilization of this knowledge to generate practical forecasts. My PhD research, titled «Advancing and Exploring Probabilistic Precipitation Forecasting and Predictability in Norway using a Bayesian Hierarchical Framework», aims to create reliable and valuable probabilistic precipitation forecasts for Norwegian farmers within this time frame.
