Main areas of research interests last years
Rehabilitation medicine, especially neurorehabilitation. For several years been a project leader for two big randomized controlled studies, one looking at the effect of two different new intensive rehabilitation programs in Bergen municipality for stroke patients discharged from a Stroke unit compared to rehabilitation as usual (grant from Research Council of Norway). The other project is comparing an outpatient cognitive rehabilitation model with ordinary follow-ups from the general practitioners for patients discharged from hospital still having symptoms from mild traumatic brain injury. From 2013 leader of a national and international randomized controlled multicentre study trying out a virtual reality equipment on stroke patients as an addition to traditional rehabilitation of arm function. For several years led a multicentre randomized controlled study on rehabilitation of mild traumatic brain injury patients. Examination and treatment of patients with long-lasting musculoskeletal pain. Evaluation and development of examination methods. Discs and sciatica: basic and clinical studies. Involved in multidisciplinary and multicentre studies
