During my studies in geography and urban and regional planning I developed a passion for studying urban human-wildlife interactions through a social-ecological systems lens. As a PhD Candidate at UiB, I am now expanding my research on conflicting values of nature and associated land-use conflicts in the context of the Nordhordland UNESCO biosphere reserve in Norway.

My research is positioned within the transdisciplinary research project ACTIONABLE and investigates the potential of nature valuation as a collaboration enabler in land-use management for common futures. I am particularly interested in the social-ecological mismatches between people’s values and formal spatial planning and decision-making processes. Through a partly co-creational research approach, I aim to identify suitable, well-informed, and spatially explicit strategies to guide resilient land-use management and to prevent further biodiversity loss.
