Fields of expertise and interest:

•  Linguistics: General and Chinese linguistics, especially word class theory and typological issues concerning the universal validity of grammatical categories.

• Translation and translation theory: Translation of Chinese poetry and prose, as well as theoretical quandaries in connection with that.

• Intercultural communication: The reception of ”classical” German philosophy – especially kantianism – into the Chinese intellectual sphere.
