Research

Jessie van Balkom is a student and employee at the University of Bergen. She is currently taking her master's in Digital Culture, while working as a research assistent at the research Center for Digital Narrative at UiB.

Previously, Jessie has taken a Bachelor's in Creative Business at Breda University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands. Her Bachelor Thesis has been awarded the first place in the international edcom Graduation Competition 2022-2023 for her outstanding thesis on 'The influence of style and motivation on the consumption of videos on the intranet of Stedin'.

She has worked as a social media content creator, manager and video producer for several companies, among which, Stedin and Tuvalu Media.
