I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Government at the University of Bergen and I am affiliated with the German Institute of Global and Area Studies. I hold a PhD in Political Science from the University of Hamburg and a MPhil in Latin American Studies from the University of Oxford.
In my research, I am interested in how social and political values and experiences influence the behaviour of individuals and especially state and rebel leaders in fragile and conflict-affected countries and regions, particularly in Latin America. Most importantly, I am currently working in the ERC-funded research project on the micro-level effects of civil wars on women's empowerment.
