Maryam Yousefian

I am working on stochastic processes and Markov State Models (MSMs) for cellular phenotype switching in stochastic gene regulatory networks (GRNs). I am involved in the development and implementation of numerical algorithms and their application in cell biology. I am also interested in Machine Learning (ML) methods and Deep Learning and use them in my project in different ways, e.g. for nonlinear dimensionality reduction or classification.

My educational background is in Electrical Engineering, particularly in Image Processing. CBU, as a strong multi-disciplinary unit, provides me with an interdisciplinary research environment that allows me to learn about other domains as well, such as bioinformatics, computer science, and precision medicine.
