Pakwanja Desiree Twea is an economist and a PhD candidate at the Bergen Centre for Ethics and Priority Setting. With experience in public service, she has developed a passion for generating evidence to inform policy and closing the gap between research and policy.

Pakwanja's research interests lie in health economics, policy analysis, and priority setting. Pakwanja's research focuses on generating evidence to inform priority setting for surgical interventions and advocating for prioritising cost-effective surgical interventions in health benefit packages. Her research aims to improve access to surgical care in low- and middle-income countries.
