My research topic is about processing and analysing spatio temporal data obtained from satellite imagery, and understanding the link between increased temperatures in summer and the velocity of ice on Greenland. In order to answer this question, I participated in the development of a data processing pipeline, downloading data from NASA Landsat-7,8 and ESA Sentinel-2, applying feature-tracking on obtained imagery, in order to obtain ice velocity data. From these, we can derive time series and understand how ice moved in the last 20 years, and assess a potential correlation with warming summers.
