As a Medical Student attending the Medical School Research Programme at the University of Bergen, I work directly under Professor Stephanie Le Hellard in the group “Epigenetics and Multiomics”.
My main interest is in the field of genetics, epigenetics and functional genomics. I am curious about how environmental factors interact with our DNA, and how this plays a role in the development of psychiatric disorders. In our research, we use methods within the field of biostatistics and bioinformatics.

"Childhood trauma in severe mental disorders: effects at the epigenetic level" (Medical Student Research Programme project). In this project we are aiming to identify DNA-methylation patterns in patients with severe mental disorders (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder) which is specific for childhood trauma.
"Impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on the level of distress in the BRYDEG2020: a Norwegian cohort". In this project, we are aiming to map the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health, with a special focus on young adults.
