Torkell Bernsen

Torkell Bernsen is Associate Professor at the Department of Design, where his field of specialty is motion graphics and 3D design in the intersection between film, animation, graphic design and illustration. With long experience in film production, design projects and teaching, Bernsen seeks to explore and visualise the designer’s range of possibilities in using moving images in different communicative contexts. Against the background of screen media’s rapid technological development, Bernsen’s research focuses on a more sensuous experience of digital content. Instead of simulating physical sensuousness by means of digital and virtual effects, he wants to bring people into real physical and sensual spaces where digital content becomes an integral part of the experience.
