Health check when working with biological factors

Main content

If a risk assessment shows that employees or students may be exposed to biological factors that are hazardous to health in such a way that more than the normal hygiene precautions are required, they must have a suitable health examination.

The health examination must be performed before exposure to biological factors and thereafter at regular intervals.

The employer must ensure that employees are offered safe and effective vaccination against biological factors they may be exposed to, where such vaccines are available. The employer must cover the cost of vaccination.
