Research at UiB´s Faculties

Faculties and affiliated research centres are the building blocks of the research and artistic development av UiB. They are the fundament on which research-based education is built upon, from Bachelor to PhD. All permanent academic staff have the right and the duty to be active researchers and educate the future generations.

Each faculty has its own research strategy, all aligning with the University´s overarching strategy. Cross-faculty research is promoted through strategic research areas, such as marine research, global societal challenges and climate and energy transformations

Research is carried out at UiB´s seven faculties involving 55 departments and several research centres:

  7. Fine Arts, Music and Design
