Global and development-related research

Norwegian Programme for Capacity Building in Higher Education and Research for Development

Norad's NORHED programme seeks to strengthen the institutional capacity and performance of academic institutions in the South to deliver quality education and research. It also seeks to increase the quality and quantity of research conducted by the countries’ own researchers.

Designed to stimulate South-North collaboration, it is anchored in and driven by institutions in the South. NORHED replaces the NOMA and NUFU programmes.

The University of Bergen is a partner in twelve projects and lead partner in one.

NORHED programme's thematic and/or geographic focus:

• Natural Resource Management, Climate Change and Environment
• Education and Training
• Health
• Democratic and Economic Governance
• Humanities, Culture, Media and Communication
• Capacity Development in South Sudan

The University of Bergen's collaboration under the NORHED programme is coordinated by UiB Global. For more information, please contact Kristin Svartveit.
