Perpetra was a PhD student with the Matrix project, funded by NFR, that looked at the influence of the surrounding vegetation on the biodviersity of selected species in forest fragments in Uganda. The project supported 10 Master's students from both UiB and Makerere University in Kampala, as well as two Ugandan PhD's - Perpetra and Collins Bulafu. Two post-docs, one in Uganda - Josephine Esaete, and one in Bergen - Amy Eycott were also supported by the project, which was led by Richard Telford and Vigdis Vandvik. Ernst Nordtveit from the Law Faculty was also involved in the project.
