Iló gains her MSc

Ildikó Orbán from Hungary successfully defended her MSc thesis on 2 December 2013 on 'Holocene treeline shifts in the Retezat Mountains, Romania'.

By using detailed plant macrofossil (seeds, needles, etc.) analysis from three lakes, two on the north side of the Retezat Mountains and one on the south side, Iló was able to show similarities and differences in the treeline history between these two areas within the southern Carpathian range. This is an area where almost nothing is known about Holocene vegetational history and Iló's study is a wonderful contirbution. Iló was awarded a grade A by her two examiners.

Congratulations to Iló for a well-produced Masters thesis.
