Aesthetics of change, rage and Rainbows gone wrong: Post-apartheid South Africa and re-imaginations of freedom and the politics of refusal and pain
The aesthetic imaginaries research group is elated to host a guest lecture by Dr. Dee Marco from the Media Studies Department at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
Dr. Marco's presentation will utilize various media and textual constructions to discuss aesthetic 'failure,' and subsequent aesthetic iterations, in the context of post-apartheid South African cultural products and imaginaries.
The event will begin with a free lunch from 12:00 to 13:00. The lecture will start at 13:15 and end around 14:15 and from 14:15 to around 15:00, there will be a Q&A/ discussion session.
