Marte-Helene Bjørk
Marte-Helene Bjørk is a professor of Neurology at the Department of Clinical Medicine, University of Bergen. She chairs the Bergen Epilepsy Research Group and serves as the vice director of the Norwegian Centre for Headache Research (NorHead). Her research focuses on safe treatment for women with neurological disorders, including epilepsy, headache, multiple sclerosis, and myasthenia gravis, utilizing European nation-wide registries, biobanks, and prospective cohort studies. In addition, Marte leads the NorHead clinical trial unit in Western Norway, where clinical intervention trials are conducted to advance the treatment of headache disorders. She has a track record of leading over 10 large observational or clinical trials, publishing more than 70 scientific articles, and supervising over 15 PhD, undergraduate, and graduate students.
Beyond her academic role, Marte works as a consultant neurologist at the Department of Neurology, specializing in epilepsy and headache.
Nils Erik Gilhus
Nils Erik Gilhus is professor (emeritus) in neurology, University of Bergen since 1987. He is a researcher at Haukeland University Hospital, and previously senior consultant at Department of Neurology. His main research interests are in myasthenia gravis and epilepsy, but he is also participating in projects on multiple sclerosis, headache, and polio. He combines clinical, registry, and biomarker research. He was previously dean and head of department, and he has played an active role in national and international scientific organizations. Gilhus has published more than 500 scientific articles, supervised more than 30 candidates for PhD, and has a broad international research cooperation.
Eline Ihle Dahl-Hansen
Eline Dahl-Hansen workings as a senior physician at the Department of Neurology, Drammen Hospital, while also serving as a 50 % PhD student. Her research project is affiliated with EpilepsiNett, a Norwegian Network for evidence-based epilepsy care. EpilepsiNett has implemented user-controlled follow-up through digitally reported Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs Dahl-Hansen's project aims to investigate the impact of User-Controlled Epilepsy Follow-up on seizure frequency, quality of life, and treatment adherence. She has been a member of Berg since 2022.
Jenny Linnea Victoria Lindroos
I am a PhD stipendiate at the University of Bergen and associated with BERG through my supervisors Professors Marte-Helene Bjørk and Nils Erik Gilhus. My PhD project "Myasthenia Gravis in women of childbearing age, consequences of disease-specific autoantibodies and pharmacotherapy for pregnancy, delivery and the child" utilizes the Nordic national health registries. We cooperate with the Centre for Fertility and Health at the National Institute of Public health, where I am supervised by PhD Jaqueline Mallory Cohen. Professor and neurologist Jana Midelfart Hoff is another co-supervisor. I am also a neurologist in specialization at Haukeland University Hospital.

Yvonne Myrtvedt Wollertsen
Yvonne Myrtvedt Wollertsen is employed by Department of Neurology and Department of Clinical Neurophysiology, Haukeland University Hospital. She is a research administrator and epilepsy registry coordinator at Bergen Epilepsy Research Group and Norwegian Center for Headache Research (NorHead). In addition to her position as research administrator she is also involved in clinical epilepsy research in our group and has been co-author on several scientific papers.

Mari Nordtveit
Mari Nordtveit, a registered nurse with advanced training in neurological nursing at Haukeland University Hospital, possesses extensive experience in neurology. She currently serves as a headache nurse in the headache outpatient clinic and as a research nurse in migraine/headache studies. Additionally, she holds a 30% position in the neurological inpatient unit.

Jan Christian Brøgger
Jan Brogger is senior consultant in clinical neurophysiology at Haukeland University. His main current research interests are in EEG and epilepsy. He has published more than 40 scientific articles, and supervised one candidate for PhD.

Silje Larsen
Silje Larsen, a registered nurse at the Department of Neurology, Haukeland University Hospital, has extensive experience in general neurology within the inpatient unit. Additionally, she works in the outpatient clinics specializing in headache and stroke management. Furthermore, she serves as a research nurse, contributing to migraine and headache studies.

User involvement
BERG has project and strategic cooperation with the relevant national and local patient (user) organizations. Several users have been involved in planning, execution, and dissemination of projects. In selected projects, users have been co-researchers.
