Main content

Ongoing research in the fish immunology group includes basic characterisation and functional studies of fish immune cells and the expression of immune genes in relation to infection and immunostimulation. The research also comprises salmon cell lines for studies of leucocyte functions. Flow cytometry and cell markers such as MAbs are extensively applied and the group continuously works on the establishment of new protocols to utilize the potential of flow cytometry in fish immunology. Current research also extensively applies qRT-PCR for studies on gene expression.
