Main content

In this study we want to know how the Norwegian population experiences the world, especially how wide-spread it is to hear voices or have unusual experiences. Everybody who is speaking Norwegian is invited to participate.

Research has shown that not only people with mental conditions (such as schizophrenia), but also a number of healthy individuals experience hallucinations in different modalities (e.g. hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting). The questionnaire was developed to describe the characteristics and severity of hallucinations and delusions, without being linked to a specific disorder like previous tools.

This is in part the translation of the Dutch Questionnaire for Psychotic Experiences (QPE). It was developed by Iris Sommer's research group from the Brain Center Rudolf Magnus, Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht, Netherlands. You can find the original interview here.

We also had a visit from NRK, who had a look backstage, to see what we are doing:

The questionnaire is now closed and we are working on publication of the data.
