Dynamics between global and national discourses on fertility control and abortion

In the SAFEZT project Karen Marie Moland participates in research mainly related to the project's Component A which seeks to explore the dynamics between global and national discourses on fertility control and abortion.

Fieldwork: Getnet Tadele, Karen Marie Moland and Astrid Blystad had a joint fieldwork in November 2016 among key reproductive health organizations and institutions (including ministries) in Addis Ababa. The aim was to collect information about law, policy and public discourse to start the mapping of the structural and ideational landscapes of fertility control and abortion in Ethiopia. A follow-up fieldwork is planned for March 2017, where also Haldis Haukanes will be part of the team, and extends to include Tanzania. Fieldwork in Zambia where Charles Michelo will join the team is planned for September 2017.
