Legal orders under pressure: Non-Western experiences of legal transformations in the 19th and early 20th centuries
The research group "Translations and Transitions: Legal Practice in 19th Century Japan, China, and the Ottoman Empire" at the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory ends officially by the end of this year. With the idea to use the moment of ending for creating bridges to broader fields of research, they are organizing a concluding symposium: "Legal orders under pressure: Non-Western experiences of legal transformations in the 19th and early 20th centuries"
