TITLE: Overturning ciRculation and its implications for Global cArboN cycle In Coupled models (ORGANIC)

MAIN OBJECTIVES:

ORGANIC integrates mathematic, computational and natural sciences to advance our understanding of the climate system and identify the uncertainties associated with the future predictions. Specifically ORGANIC employs the Norwegian Earth System Model (NorESM) to elucidate the variability and main drivers of the ocean conveyor circulation, a key indicator for climate change. The implications of this variability on the biogeochemical cycle in the ocean interior and marine sediment will be examined. ORGANIC will build new expertise in interdisciplinary fields as well as initiate crucial international network, which complements the climate research activities in Norway
