Jan Schjøtt is an associated member of the CONCARD Research Group and has co-authored this study due to his expertise in clinical pharmacology. The study shows that patients undergoing first-time percutaneous coronary intervention face multiple, interacting challenges in trying to adhere to prescribed medications following discharge. This study highlights the need for a more structured follow-up care in order to improve medication adherence and to maximise their self-care abilities. Int J Nurs Stud was rated as the best nursing journal in the world at the time of submission.
