PAST4FUTURE

Climate change-Learning from the past climate

Main content

MAIN OBJECTIVES: Reconstruct changes in the circulation and ventilation of the total THC (AMOC) and investigate its relationship to climate. Furthermore, Past4Future will reconstruct AMO, thermocline variability and tropical hydrology - and use data-model comparisons to understand their coupling, evaluate the sensitivity of THC in models at times warmer than present, and establish a dynamic understanding of THC-climate coupling through data-model and inter-model comparisons, and data assimilation.
