Optimization of cell seeded constructs for tissue engineering
With respect to co-cultured cell sources, more parameters need to be determined, both in vitro and in vivo. Biotechnical methods, such as the cell seeding procedure and the dynamic culture environment, need to be more efficient. There are several stages at which the scaffolding can be modified, such as the initial selection of the biomaterial itself, the geometrical structure of the scaffolds and the surface properties. The overall aim of this series of studies is to evaluate steps intended to enhance the above parameters, in order to improve the potential clinical outcome of constructs based on copolymer scaffolds.
