Doctoral defence for Ann-Kristin Helland Gujord

7 June Ann-Kristin Helland Gujord will defend her PhD thesis on verbal semantics in Norwegian as a second language.

We are pleased to inform that Ann-Kristin Helland Gujord’s PhD thesis has been accepted for defence. The defence consists of two parts — trial lecture and oral defence.

Trial lecture

Time: Thursday 6 June, at 16.30. Duration 45 minutes.

Place: Auditorium B, Sydneshaugen skole.

Given topic: "Current trends in research on the role og individual differences in L2 learning"

Defence

Time: Friday 7 June, 09.30–approx. 13.00.

Place: Auditorium B, Sydneshaugen skole.

Title of the thesis: "Grammatical encoding of past time in L 2 Norwegian: The roles of L 1 influence and verb semantics"

Opponents

First opponent: Professor Fanny Meunier, Centre for English Corpus Linguistics, Université Catholique de Louvain.

Second opponent: Associate professor Emanuel Bylund, Centre for Research on Bilingualism, Stockholm University.

The committee is headed by associate professor Åsta Haukås, Department of Foreign Languages, University of Bergen.

The defence will be chaired by professor Johan Myking, Department of Linguistic, Literary and Aesthetic Studies, University of Bergen.
