Poster workshop for PhDs and Post Docs

Research posters should summarize information of a research project concisely and attractively to help generate a discussion on the theme. But how do you make a good poster?

Arjun Ahluwalia is a graphic designer from the communications department at UiB. He knows a lot about what works when it comes to visual expressions.

Karin Pittman is professor at the Department of Biological Sciences (BIO) and have been massively involved in scientific communication courses at her department. She has experience, practice, a prize or two, and lots of opinions of what makes a good science poster.

Together, Karin and Arjum will guide you through this poster workshop.

Program:

12:15- 12:30 Introduction
12:30 - 13:00 Form and function
13:30- 14:00  Group work: The message
14:00-14:30 Break
14:30-15:00 Form: what visuals do we have?
15:00-16:0  Individual work, group work and presentations

Participants must bring their own laptop.
They must also have an idea for a poster, or bring a poster from a previous conference to work on.
