Monitoring subsurface processes using the generalized Dix’ method
The project goal is to derive means to monitor subsurface processes by utilizing the generalized Dix method.
Monitoring is enabled by (passive) seismicity possibly supplemented by dedicated active source acquisition. Virtual interior (point) sources may also be (actively) generated by nonlinear elastic wave interaction. The generalized Dix method, based on Dix’ classic method, and recent development of time-to-depth mapping, has the key advantage that it can be applied locally, in the vicinity of some reference ray.
