The project aims to describe characteristics of deformation bands in Miocene carbonate grainstones as well as to identify controls on their formation. Methods include field work and detailed micro-analysis of thin sections through optical and scanning electron microscope (SEM). High resolution drone-images have also been collected and used to produce a 2D model of the outcrop, allowing for macro-scaled analysis of deformation band networks.
