Welcome to the first lecture in the "Current affairs in China" series this spring semester: Social acceptance of corona apps in China, Europa, and the US.

Governments worldwide have introduced Contract Tracing Apps as a measure to contain the spread of COVID-19. While European and US societies responded with widespread skepticism and denial, the Chinese reacted more positively and integrated CTAs into their daily lives.

Sabrina Habich-Sobiegalla, Assistant Professor at Freie Universität Berlin, explains the reasons behind these divergent attitudes and proposes possible ways of increasing social acceptance for Corona Tracking Apps.
