Anotonio Somaini, professor in film, media and visual cultural theory at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris 3, is at Media City Bergen December 4 to talk about his research.

We will discuss the question of "what is an image in the age of algorithms" by focusing on recent works and writings by artists such as Trevor Paglen, Hito Steyerl, Grégory Chatonsky and Pierre Huyghe, and by situating in a media-archaeological perspective the very idea of "machine vision".
