Prosjektbeskrivelse
The Solund-Stavfjord Ophiolite Complex (SSOC) has formed in the transition Ordovicium – Silur (443 Ma) and is the youngest of several ophiolite complexes described in the Upper Allochthon in the Norwegian Caledonides. Current theories indicate that we can expect an enrichment of various metals and minerals associated with the formation of the SSOC. The enrichment is expected to be found in areas with proven hydrothermal activity, especially in shear zones developed at the oceanic stage. I will collect data in the area at Grimelid, as well as perform data research in other relevant parts of the ophiolite complex to detect the mineralization in shear zones.
