Emnet har som mål å gi studenten grunnleggende forståelse for nye medier

Innhald:

New media is a term used to describe the artistic use of a wide range of constantly evolving technologies, from the advent of analogue electronic media to today's digital and ubiquitous media.

This course emphasizes on digital literacy. Electronic image and audio processing technology is the entry point to cultivate students' understanding and appreciation of the history, aesthetics, concepts and technology of media art practice in the context of art and society as a whole.

As the development of media and communication technologies has shaped the increasingly common experiences and perceptions of the world around us, this course explores analog and digital tools and uses a critical examination of media culture as a framework to introduce students to the possibilities of working in time and space with artistic means.

Students are introduced to a wide range of hands-on production processes and understand the choice of settings and equipment. Students in this course acquire the basic skills and knowledge to work independently in studios and workshops
