Hovedinnhold

Cantor's continuum problem—the question of the precise size of the set of all real numbers—has been central to set theoretic research since the early work of Cantor and Zermelo, and continues to be a major research question in set theory today. This talk will survey the history of this problem, introduce the main contemporary options for a solution to this problem, and conclude by presenting recent work towards a better understanding of the nature and stakes of this debate.
