PROPERTY

An international seminar on property rights will take place at Solstrand Fjord Hotel 30.-31. of May, gathering top international speakers from several countries. Some of the most famous and influential legal scholars in the World are participating, as well as excellent younger scholars with new ideas. An important aim of the seminar is to confront younger Norwegian researchers in property rights with the international discussion on a high level.

Hovedinnhold

Property rights plays an increasingly important role in economic and social development, natural resource governance and management of the climate crisis etc. The economic, social and technological development creates new forms of property and raises new questions.

The seminar will address basic questions related to the development of new forms of property objects and property rights, such as blockchains and derivatives, but also social questions like transfer of wealth by inheritance and the relations between property and democracy. The long term social effects of property systems and the effect on property registration on economic development are other important issues.
